Stewart Stout (b. 1984, Petaluma, CA) is a Brooklyn based artist and activist.  Influenced by queer and socialist political thought, he has been working primarily through the lens of sculpture, video and installation to think about the gaps between individuals and collectives, the utopian and the possible, and between natural and social systems.  He has participated in and helped to curate numerous group exhibitions in New York and was a founding member of LAIR FERA, a queer artist collective and exhibition space in Brooklyn.  Stout received his MFA in Photography from Hunter College in 2019.
